On May 28th of this year i played this event at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY. Rocked it with a special reggae / dancehall set for a few hours and then filmed the rest, upstairs and downstairs. So here is the video i shot, featuring Iron Myke, Marcus Visionary, Pinch, Silvacat Sound and Livity Movements with Human? on the mic. Though not as packed as the previous two, this party still had rockin’ vibes, Marcus just destroyed the place, and people were dancing like crazy. Sickness all around! Enjoy!
This was a show i went to on April 13th, and i was excited for weeks prior. The legendary Skatalites! Here in NYC! It was of course an amazing show. This group has carried the tradition of the original Skatalites through the decades, with ever changing line-ups but never decreasing quality. Hearing the old riddims and tunes in perfect clarity and volume was incredible! I took some video and a bunch of pics. Enjoy!

This was the second installment of this new party series in Brooklyn that brings together the sounds of reggae, dancehall, dubstep, drum n’ bass, jungle and ragga jungle. Headlined by my boy Tester from Atlanta, it featured a great line up all around! I shot a bunch of video, edited and posted it up. This was a wicked night at Konkrete Jungle NYC at Club Pyramid. I opened up the night until about 1am, and then Aries went back to back with Tuffist, dropping one sick tune after another. The crowd was really feeling it! I was not able to stick around to see Miztah Lex close up the night, but altogether the vibes were dope! Check the below videos and pics. Enjoy!

On 09/06/09, Quality of Life, one of NYC’s big Dnb promoters, hosted another great event! This time bringing over Benny Page (Digital Soundboy) for his NYC debut! Also on the bill were Starkey (!), Liondub, and the hosts Kae Sharp & Junglez. Awesome show, great turnout, amazing vibes. This was one for the books. Benny Page killed it with a mixture of Ragga Dnb, Dnb and Dubstep. The funny thing was that he had the place jumpin with ragga dnb, but as soon as he started dropping dubstep the crowd thinned out and people starting checking their cell phones. It wasn’t until he brought back the hype dnb and ragga dnb that the crowd really went off again. Dnb won out that night! Also to mention MC Diggadee who kept the crowd hype throughout. Then Liondub finished the night with some wicked reggae / dancehall vibes that then went into Ragga Jungle. With Jahdan on the mic, it was a wicked session! Rinse out!

I have always wanted to check out a show at the Bandshell in Prospect Park, so when i saw that Burning Spear is playing i obviously got really excited. It’s a nice outdoor setup they have going on there, a lot of it seating area, that you’d have to come really early for, but the entry fee is only 3 bucks so who can complain. It was a warm summer night, the place was packed and the vibes were amazing. Burning Spear is an incredible performer who still has a huge deal of energy, he dances and jumps around, sings, plays drums and whips the crowd into excitement. He played his classics and some newer stuff, some really dubbed tings and some roots reggae. The sound there is great as well, i can only highly recommend it. I took a few photos and some video footage, but also linked up some much nicer videos that i found, which highlight the event much better since i was a bit far from the stage (not view wise, but far enough for my little digicam to struggle a bit).
