I had the great honor of my tune being played on BBC Radio 1xtra! It was my Dubwize Remix of reggae artist Parly B’s tune “Realise”, and though it wasn’t mentioned properly, meaning they didn’t give me credit, but just called it Parly B’s tune (the original is actually a reggae tune), i’m still very excited about this. It was played yesterday, Sunday, June 27th 2010 on the “Homegrown” show.

This was a wicked night at Konkrete Jungle NYC at Club Pyramid. I opened up the night until about 1am, and then Aries went back to back with Tuffist, dropping one sick tune after another. The crowd was really feeling it! I was not able to stick around to see Miztah Lex close up the night, but altogether the vibes were dope! Check the below videos and pics. Enjoy!

The legend himself, giving an interesting interview on Diplo’s Mad Decent Radio, talking about how he got started and his love for Roots Reggae and the culture associated with it. An interesting and funny exchange of words followed by a mix which is but a small taste of the huge vault of dubplates by the mighty David Rodigan (Kiss 100 FM, London, UK). If you don’t know this man, you just have to do the research.

On 09/06/09, Quality of Life, one of NYC’s big Dnb promoters, hosted another great event! This time bringing over Benny Page (Digital Soundboy) for his NYC debut! Also on the bill were Starkey (!), Liondub, and the hosts Kae Sharp & Junglez. Awesome show, great turnout, amazing vibes. This was one for the books. Benny Page killed it with a mixture of Ragga Dnb, Dnb and Dubstep. The funny thing was that he had the place jumpin with ragga dnb, but as soon as he started dropping dubstep the crowd thinned out and people starting checking their cell phones. It wasn’t until he brought back the hype dnb and ragga dnb that the crowd really went off again. Dnb won out that night! Also to mention MC Diggadee who kept the crowd hype throughout. Then Liondub finished the night with some wicked reggae / dancehall vibes that then went into Ragga Jungle. With Jahdan on the mic, it was a wicked session! Rinse out!

Bastard Jazz, one of the most successful Brooklyn labels when it comes to a very unique sound, encompassing all things reggae, dub, latin, electronic related, hosts what i believe to be one of the, if not THE, best event in Brooklyn. Set in Studio BPM, a local music studio in an (almost) hidden warehouse, this event brings dope reggae bands and classic artists, time after time, with reggae selectors throwing down in between sets. The last one took place on Saturday, 8/29/09, with a local favorite, Ossie Dellimore and his band (www.myspace.com/ossiedellimore), playing original tunes and a few covers. Awesome and very tight band, great singer….wicked vibes all around. Much respect to DJ DRM for running one of the best nights in Brooklyn as well as an eclectic label, definitely one of my favorites as well. Make sure to stop by www.bastardjazz.com or www.turntablelab.com (search for bastard jazz) and pick up some of their tunes and vinyl.

Here is a video of the night as well as a few pics and the flyer:
